I found this in my change today. I'm surprised it was scooped up earlier. I looked for other coins with this error but I havn't found any other examples.
Would this be called the Spiked Head...??...I know that kind of error on ebay sells for big $$$ Speedy
Speedy, "Spiked Head" die cracks are usually refering to proofs with a die crack running almost straight north from the 6 o'clock position up into the head. The big $$ is b/c its an eye catching proof error, circulated coins don't carry as much of a premium.
Thanks lawdogct... CoinRollGuy...its just you.. ;--) If you look again...its coming from the neck.. Speedy
No I mean I see something coming from the tip of the nose it goes out at a 10 to 15 degree angle and then seems to change directions.
I see what your talking about. Its hard to tell from the picture if that was from the mint....or someones car keys
I went and looked again...it does look like it could be a small crack...the only way to find out is to wait till Jwolfdnb comes back and says what it looks like. Speedy
