Replica of a Mexican 8 Reales, worth few dollars.

 

How can I verify it it is a real coin? and how can you tell it is a replica?

 

It is not a real coin, you can tell it is a cast replica by the grainy mushy surfaces. This is a very common replica coin.

Sorry, but it is a poorly made cast replica. I was at a Revolutionary War Fort a few years ago and the gift shop had a bunch of them for sale in a nice little treasure chest for $1 each

Seems like you had plenty already. If you are not going to believe the expert advice you are offered why did you ask in the first place?

 

Drop it on a hard surface, silver will ring, this one will probably "thud".

 

That's most likely why it was laying on the road !!
