Found my first shield cent today

Got it in change at Denny's in Austin. I asked if they had others, but they did not.

I like 'em.....very simple but a striking design.

Very nice, i have yet to see one but then again i have only seen about 10 2009 lincolns in circulation and they were all the log cabin design

 

Still waiting to see my first! Judging by how fast the 2009s got to me, it will be mid summer before I see any. Yet 2008s I found by May at least. I really like the design (not to say it's perfect, but I like it) and can't wait to find some.

 

I read a letter in N.N. that one showed up here in Iowa, so I'm hoping I may see one before to long. I'm not holding my breath though. Actually I still haven't seen one of the LP4 cents yet either.

I've been seeing the shield cents quite often starting in early March. Bank still doesn't have any that they know of so I don't know where they are coming from.

I guess I'm lucky. I have five sets of LP1-LP4's. But they're all Philly's. They really look good in the 1999-Date Harris folders.
Don't think that I've seen any LP1-LP4 Denver's yet.

 

I've gotten all of the 2009 coins in change somewhere (I travel alot for work) but I still bought rolls of P&D of each one. The shields have eluded me in circulation so far but again I broke down and bought a roll from each mint.

How many of you guys have the 95% copper sets from the mint? I believe those will be the ones to own, I have four proof sets (two from silver proof sets and two from clad proof sets) and two sets P&D from my uncirculated mint sets.

 

Got a 2nd shield cent today at a bank in the Houston area. Both D mints. No rolls yet though....

 

I rec'd my first one in the mail, won a contest here on CT :smile

i actually got my first circulated shield penny today from work. i am surprised it took so long to find one. glad i picked up rolls of both P & D a while back :thumb:

My neighbor who collects very old fine bottles gave me four LP4's and an LP1. Now I have six P mint sets of LP1- LP4's. When I get more LP4's I'm gonna ask for a trade for D mints.

 

man, I've had to buy my 2010 cents.

 

Please help me understand this quote......It is only April, and 2010 cents will be minted all year. Why did you have to buy 2010 cents? Might you find them before the end of the year?
