the other night when i rented a movie the cashier gave me my change in ones. so last night i remembered to go through them looking for serial number keepers as i was looking at them i was thinking about posting a thread about finding my first star note as if i had already found one and about the fifth note i noticed a letter missing at the end of the serial number in its place was a star.dd: also i would like to know if a 2003 dallas texas was a common one or not? (one dollar star note)
Wow, nice find! Could you post the serial number or a pic? We'll need those to be able to determine if it is a rare one. Here is a star note look up also, tells you how many had to be made. Hope this helps. Phoenix
i dont expect it to be worth much i know that there are alot of 2003 star notes out there i dont know which ones are common and which ons are not as common, with my luck i expect this one to be common. it is not in the best of condition probably some where around fine there is a fold down the center and the center length wise. the srial number is K00182311* dont have a camera. yet.
Is it a 2003 or a 2003A? That can make a good difference. If it is a 2003A, less than 640,000 were made, so that is pretty good. If it is a 2003, then it is pretty common. But still a nice find. :thumb: Phoenix
not true .. they minted several million more about 2 months ago =( it seriously killed the asking price for the 2 star notes i bought =(
Really? Man, thanks for the info! I guess he will need to update his site I guess. That really bites. Good thing I get mine for face. I think I have found a total of five stars in circulation? Not sure, going to have to check. Phoenix
Not all of them are 2003A K, some are fives and a ten. I was talking about all the stars I found in circulation total. Lol, And they are circulated, too. Wish I found a few UNC Ks though. Sorry for the confusion. Basically I have a good shot at finding old money and stars, because at my bank they actually let me look through their money. Find some old style notes, and quite a few stars, so that is neat. They also keep an eye out for anything different or neat. I go about every Friday when I get the chance. So it is cool. Phoenix
Star notes are very interesting items worth keeping. We had them over here in New Zealand, but I never got one in change.I did get 3 of their successors as replacement notes though - with a 'ZZ' prefix - 2 $5 notes & a $50. Aidan.
its a 2003? if it were a 2003A, it would be worth some money. too bad. nice find though. i keep every star note i find, but if you need the money, i would spend it. if you don't need the money, just keep it. star notes are neat.
I was reading this post earlier today before taking my daughter and niece to see Meet The Robinsons at the mall today wher I recieved this 2003 A Star note today. Its not in the greatest shape but I was very pleased to get it back in change.
