Found in my box of Lincoln's

    Need to know if this is die or mechanical doubling. Found it today in my BIG box of Lincoln's. Thanks for your help.

    I would have to say this was mechanical doubling. I don't see any evidence of split serifs. BTW welcome to the forum! Those are some very nice coin photos.

    They have hit me with it a few times (mechanicle doubling:headbang: ) thing is it's good feedback and keeps us searching. By the way, nice to see you jumped on the microscope bandwagon:thumb:

    mechanical tripling by my count ;) Nice find though....keep 'em coming :D

    Hi,
    Yep, this is mechanical damage and "tripling" might actually be accurate. It does not add anything to the value of the coin.

    Triple mechanical? That's probably what threw me off. Just couldn't figure out all the marks. Thanks for your help. And yes, I LOVE my new Digital Blue microscope/camera. I'm so glad somebody mentioned it in one of these forums. So easy to use. Wish I had it a few weeks ago.
