    Hello,
I found this in a bag of wheat pennies I was going through that I bought over 10 years ago. The coin is dated 1865. It is in pretty nice condition for its age. It is a little larger than a US cent. I was wondering where it was from and if it was worth anything.
    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hello Ben,

I don't have my reference books in front of me, but I believe that's a 2 phennig from the german states. I think the reverse indicates that it is 1/180 of a thaler.

Pretty neat find. I'm sure someone will add loads of better information for you before I get a chance to do more investigation, but if not I will post more later.

It seems it is a Prussian 2 pfennig coin (1 Taler = 360 pfennig). The "A" stands (I think) for the Berlin mint. I saw a similar coin on eBay for couple of bucks
