Found Coins

    My husband and I have come across some coins and really dont know where to begin to find their value. Would anyone in here with some knowledge like to help me out?

    i'll try to help as much as I can, Hope.

    could you try to list the dates of the coins and what they generally look like and depict?

    If you only have a few, details about them (preferably with pictures) posted here will undoubtedly get you answers.

    If you have a lot, your best bet is a trip to your local public library, where you should be able to find The Guide Book of United States Coins by R.S. Yeoman, also known as "the Red Book"; and the Standard Catalog of World Coins by Kruase & Mishler, also known as "Krause". The Red Book will give you pictures and retail values (what you would pay, not what you would sell to a dealer for) on U.S. coins, and Krause will do the same for coins of other countries. Both books have a lot of general information, and Krause includes sections to help you identify what country most foreign coins are from.

    Either way, you are embarking on an adventure into history. Enjoy.[​IMG]
