    Hello all,

I don't have access to a digital camera, so bear with me please.

It gold--maybe bronze coin. I've had it for years and I don't remember where I found it--

    General:
    It's heavy
    front portrait engraving sticks out
    it's george washington
    dated 1789
says: "GEORGE WASHINGTON PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES" on front
on back: "TIME INCREASES HIS FAME"
also on back there is a bow on a circle christmas thing (the things u hang on your door at christmas) but it doesn't look exactly like it
    no mint location provided
    no value listed

can you guys help me out in identifying what this coin is, where, and significane... and possibly value

    Thank you!

Because the style of lettering is an important clue in attribution of medals, it's just about impossible to give you a definitive answer without a picture, unless a forum member actually has one like yours.
Actually, it's a medal, not a coin. The Red Book has several pages of such medals issued in the early years of our country, not including yours, since it is definitely not that old.
That reverse legend is not consistent with its having been struck/cast in or shortly after 1789. That, of course, is the date on which he was elected as the first President of the United States under the Constitution ratified that year.

A Google search for George Washington Medal had 148,000 hits! He is probably #1 in the world for being the subject of medals.
