Struck on a zinc cent planchet. Took it from a guy who didn't listen that it was a fake and sent it in to NGC anyway. It is scary how real and genuine it looks.
What do you mean took it from him? Was it on a bet? Did Silverstone make one particular die to strike these or are they various degrees of alignment?
Is Silverstone a known counterfeiter? Is it the same as what's being referenced in this thread? https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=182878 If so, some claim that some of those were straight graded by the TPGs initially?
Yeah it is the same guy. He used real planchets to do his work. I believe this is the second Virginia state quarter that @JCro57 has shown. I wonder how many have been fooled?
He is a known counterfeiter, but it is very likely not his real name. He has a deep, thick foreign accent. Likely eastern European. Yes, some were striaght-graded like this one
Thank you. Found this on the link you provided: https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=182413
