Found a Silverstone Fake, and it's a Darn Good One

Struck on a zinc cent planchet. Took it from a guy who didn't listen that it was a fake and sent it in to NGC anyway.

It is scary how real and genuine it looks.

How do you know it’s Silverstone? I want one lol

What do you mean took it from him? Was it on a bet?
Did Silverstone make one particular die to strike these or are they various degrees of alignment?

 

Is Silverstone a known counterfeiter?

Yeah it is the same guy. He used real planchets to do his work.
I believe this is the second Virginia state quarter that @JCro57 has shown.
I wonder how many have been fooled?

 

He is a known counterfeiter, but it is very likely not his real name. He has a deep, thick foreign accent. Likely eastern European.
