hi everyone! found a pretty :kewl: serial number while on vacation. its a $1 bill series 2003 with a serial number of 68888486. do you think its worth keeping?encil:
not really. I've seen ones similar, and its nothing too special. if the numbers were changed around then it might be something like 46888886, then it might be a little better. still fun to find 4 of the same digits in a row.
five 8's is a pretty good poker note. I actually saved a note i found with a serial number with five 8's in it. Only thing that can beat it is a note with five 9's in the serial and that's kinda rare. Toss it on ebay as a poker note, might get a few more bucks for it
It's a note that is worth keeping,as a serial number with 3 8's in a row is considered to be extremely lucky in the Far East, especially in China,Hong Kong,& Singapore. Aidan.
Lots of 8's in a row and all of the numbers are even numbers. I'd probably keep it. What the heck... it's just a dollar. You can always spend it later if needed.
They don't have to be in a row. You just take the best 5 numbers. So for that note, he'd be holding 5 of a kind.
I'd keep it for sure. It has a Coolness index of 98% and I keep all bills with Coolness Index over 95%. http://www.coolnumbers.com/crunch.asp?source=1&serial=68888486&type=1 Some of my best bills are: 09009099 - CI of 99.24% 41411148 - CI of 98.1% 44404646 - CI of 97.7% 68468486 - CI of 97.5% 25050205 - CI of 97.1% 83830083 - CI of 97.0% I also keep all my star notes and just consider this a fun way to save money. Keeping those $100 star notes gets expensive but I only have a few so it's not too bad. I think I have saved about $1500-$1800 in the past 5-6 months since I started saving just star notes and cool numbers. Of course then there's the roll searched coins and half dollars and my PMs. Coin collecting, although not the cheapest hobby, is by far the best hobby I have ever had. There's not a day that goes by that I don't take something out of circulation. This week the teller at the bank told me some guy brought in a few $2 bills. She gave me the (2) 1976 $2 bills that are in very very nice condition. Well...didn't GIVE them to me..I gave her $4 in trade *~*Joey*~*
You should spent the $1 ( 68888486 ) or accumulate it to buy something worth keeping for long-term. The value of your note is determine by the market demand. Do a market survey by checking the prices sold in ebay for fancy numbers. Check what are the fancy numbers that people like. You will have an idea what notes to retain in the future. It is a much more practical and more accurate way than getting the note number determine by the software That software can be improved by adding in more real-world conditions. Increase your chances of getting fancy numbers banknotes by purchasing them. Unless you work as a bank cashier, you will have a higher chances of finding good numbers banknotes at face value.
