Likely struck through grease or an over polished die. Interesting that there looks to be what appears as a couple of die gouges where the letter should be.
ROFL @paddyman98 (and Dr. Evil- if that's what they call him. I never got around to seeing those Austin Powers movies but have seen enough secondhand memes and snippets to follow along a bit).
@wonderwoman - is that a metal detecting action shot in your avatar? If so, share the story! That would be cool if it was. I see you are 50 and from GA. Me too. If you are also a digger, that's three things we have in common. (Besides a passing interest in coins, obviously.) That's GOT to be a dig shot. But it's tantalizing 'cause I can't figure out what the coin in the picture is!
Yes the avatar is from metal detecting action! My first Indian Buffalo! I love metal detecting, but right now the dirt is to hard for me to dig. I am praying for rain. Just started coin hunting and collecting. I am already addicted!
Well, we have a lot in common, then, aside from gender. Good thing I'm already happily married, or I might have to flirt with ya! LOL So what part of the great state of Jawjuh do you hail from? I'm on the coast, in the Golden Isles. Live in Brunswick, work on St. Simons Island. If you're ever down thisaways, I'll take you out diggin'! (1926-D dime.) (1907 Indian cent. Common date, but look how it came outta the ground!) Haven't figured out how to embed a video yet, but if you want a taste of Glynn County Old Town Brunswick detecting, here's a video I shot. (At 23 minutes, it's my longest, but it's pretty fun, if I do say so myself. I had fun, anyway!)
Yep. That's me, too. Much more recent. I don't have the stamina to record and edit four hours of detecting into a 23-minute video anymore. So I just did that little short bit of goofiness you mentioned.
Fat. Crossed that 300-lb threshold I swore I never would. Knees ain't what they used to be. Haven't quit smoking yet, either, and it's killing me. I get winded walking from one side of a building to another. Pathetic. That, and the fact that my trusty Garrett 2500 died during my detecting trip to England, and I've temporarily downgraded to a Garrett 350, the fact is I just don't get out much anymore. Maybe once or twice a year. Haven't found a piece of silver since England in November of 2013. But all that is just a pile of excuses. I need to get the big Garrett fixed or at least get out with the little one, get the ciggie monkey off my back, lose some weight, and get back into digging. My dig days ain't over yet; just much fewer and farther between in recent years. Hope to change that eventually.
Still smoke too. Wanted the Garrett 2500, but got the ace 250 and then got the at pro. I have to say so far that the ace 250 has been better. I am still learning the pro. I haven't been out either, but I have the fever. Just let it rain some to soften this hard dirt and I will be off and detecting.
