I was at work thinking I was gonna get off at 4 and then found out at 3:30 I was gonna be staying till 6. Well I was in the drive thru and our dispenser has the coin on the top and at the bottom of the coin holder there are circle hole cutouts to let you see when coin is getting low. I looked at it and noticed from the sides that there was a silver dime in there. I opened it up and fished down to that dime and it ended up being a 1941 mercury dime. I replaced it with one of mine and decided it was worth staying late for! It is only my 2nd one. The first I got at a gas station when someone in front of me paid for something with it and the cashier looked at it funny asking me what it was. I told her it was an old dime and asked if I could trade for one of mine and she said yes!
Congratulations! I once found a Seated Liberty dime in a bunch of coins I got from a vending machine place. This was before 1964 so being silver was not enough to make it stick out. My explanation then was that the coin was stolen from dad's collection by some kid who wanted a soda. Whatever the explanation, it is good someone who would appreciate it has it now.
That would be neat! I was just so surprised. I expected just a silver dime and when it was a mercury I was pretty happy. Like I've said before it doesn't take much to make me happy! I get excited with every wheat cent I find at work! LOL
