    Hi All

I found a nice FB 1964 dime. I got excited because I read that it is a distinction people like on these, but then also noticed that there doesn't seem to carry much of a premium - Whats the story here? Is it just a distinction that only adds value on key dates, etc... Or do people just not really care so much?

Some Roosevelt Dimes, as with most coin issues, have dates that are more commonly weakly struck than others. As a result, when an issue usually weakly struck shows up with an above average strike and details, it commands premiums. FB almost always indicates an above average, sharply struck coin.

Don't forget, the correct designation for Roosevelt dimes is Full Torch (FT).
The term Full Bands (FB) is only used because the TPG's never got around to adding FT to their label making database.
    The torch is the key.

I thought NGC used FT, and PCGS FB?

    Could be.
    I can't argue the point.

BTW I hope FT (or FB) on Roosevelt Dimes DOES matter.
I've got a full set of silver Roosies (1946-64) all slabbed MS-66 FT (or FB).

I would recommend a trip to PCGS for
your coin. This would confirm grade and
    torch quality.

@kanga There are several rolls that have
not been graded for each year in the hobby
community. There is a collector in SW Va.
that had 7 roll sets of dimes and 5 roll sets
of Washies 46-64. He bought them during
the silver run up of 79-80. He still had them
as of 2015. Yes, they are Unc rolls. I am sure
    there are other similar hoards.

They made A TON of 64 and 64-D Rosies.
Prob half of them have full torch. It's nothing.
