Needless to say i haven't posted in weeks because i haven't found anything in a while. Today i checked my wallet after a day of buying stuff and found two old style $5's. A series 1977 and a series 1995! The '77 is a keeper, but i was going to spend the 1995 until i noticed that it's still crisp and doesn't really have a whole lot of creases. Guess i'll keep em both...for now http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic.php?u=11130S5RAi&i=1111667
yeah, I was gonna say, that 95 is quite nice, I'd keep it - but only because its that good. the 77 is for sure a keeper! I found one 77, and it was a 1$ - in far worse condition than yours!
Nice finds.. but i got a question for you.. why didnt you notice the notes when putting them into your wallet? you must be slipping lol
Most often I do look. When i get change, i usually check it when i get back to the car so i don't spend anything good. Today i just waited til i got home I do the same with coins. Got a '45 and '42 wheat cent a few weeks ago. Kept those of course
I got a real let down last month. I put a few of the old style bills in the auction for face value and two of them didn't sell. I guess some more aging is still needed (and a whole lot of shredding from the Federal Reserves).
Been busy with work and all. Plus, I recently bought a ryedale coin machine and have been having fun with it. I've already found 2 IHC's, over $13 face in wheat cents, and a clipped planchet. Also had a score of over $50 face in pre-1964 quarters including 6 SLQ's. The coin books are filling out just nice. Who would have thought you could fill a 1932 to 1964 quarter book 75% full in quarters pulled from circulation in 2008. I took a breather from the $2's, but every week I keep telling myself I'm going to make the call to order a couple more bundles to search. Maybe this week will be the week?? I still keep the old $50's I come across when cashing in the coins.
