Well I am visiting my brother in Charleston, SC and brought my metal detector and found a 1906 Barber Dime. I always enjoy finding a coin using my metal detector. I didn't even wash the dirt off yet but here's a Picture. Ice
Neat! I haven't found anything nicer than a few wheat cents and some 90%. What kind of area were you shooting around? Was it an older structure? Did you research before you went or just go blind? Was it public or private? Congrats.
Great, great find. I always used to laugh at people who had metal detectors thinking that they would never get enough trinkets by using it to offset the price they paid for it. Then i became obsessed with coins, and I could see me purchasing one one day....
I bought a used white's 6000DiPro for 250 bucks a couple years ago. It's paid for itself once via silver coins that I've found...and at least once via modern clad that I've found. I sometimes recover 10-12 dollars worth of change in a good day. One local park gave up 13 rolls of modern quarters....one at a time of course. Nightowl
