    Greetings all,

In going through my penny box stash I found a box I had stashed for a rainy day that I forgot about so I have been going through it the last few days, kinda nice cause it was from 2012 so had a good bit of copper and 09's to pull out.

The most interesting find though is really not that interesting I guess, but it is! I have searched through many many thousands of pennies and have never found one of these before - a Blank/unpressed zinc planchet!

At first I thought it was just badly worn but when I picked it up there is no real wear and it weighs exactly 2.5 grams so I can only imagine the machine accidentally spit this little guy right past the press!

Anyone else come across these before?

I got one that is pre-82 Copper. and one the came in a 2x2 with a date of 1984 that I can only suspect that someone found roll hunting in a new roll of 84's.
