Found a 1942 nickel but it's not silver

    Yeah I found a 41,46, 49. 58, 59 nickels

    Looks normal. 5-10 cents
    Circulated Jeffersons are tough. Very few carry a premium.
    The 42-D is rarer and worth a little more.

    Might not be worth much as is, but if you make a set with circulated nickels then they start becoming more desirable altogether. It can also be a fun little challenge to build a set. There are many but some of the more specific sets you could use this one for are...

    1) Nickel Date set 1942 (4 coins total, 2 are silver)
    2) Pre-silver Jefferson Nickel set 1938-1942 PDS (14 coins total)
    3) 1940's Decade Nickel set (31 coins total)

    Again, there are many different variations you could create, but these are just a few of the simpler sets.
