Hey guys, I'm pretty new to collecting and haven't even thought about error coins at this point. I opened two rolls of pennies I got from a store near me. These ones caught my eye. They look pretty off from normal pennies. I looked up a ton of info on error coins over the weekend and I'm guessing these are maybe broadstrike errors? I cant recall what the double rim error is called. A collar error? I'm probably way off, but wanted to share what I found. Thanks for taking a look and would appreciate any kind of information on them.
Yep, very common to find Lincolns slightly off center, but unfortunately not a big deal. No real errors here. Keep trying
Hi Welcome to ct! Imho, yes it looks to be mad ( misaligned die strike) quite common. No premium. Here’s a great link http://www.maddieclashes.com/misaligned-anvil-die/
There is a difference between an Off Center Strike and a Misaligned Die Stike - https://www.lincolncentforum.com/misaligned-die-errors-vs-off-center-strikes/
Both of those links helped me understand a lot more about off center and MAD. that's really good stuff to know. Thanks!
