Hey guys! Just found what looks to be my first authentic double dye coin, so thought I’d share! I found it in pocket change a week or so ago and had lost my old loupe so I wasn’t able to check it out until my new one came in the mail yesterday. I’ve just gotten into coin hunting the last year or so, so I’m pretty excited to have finally found something cool! Hope you all enjoy!
Thanks... I had it that way but it didn’t look right so I changed it ♂️ Haha that’s how much of a rookie I am!
Try taking some photos from strait above. I am not convinced it looks flat and shelf like. What does Liberty look like?
Yes it does... it’s just very difficult to get a picture that shows it exactly. I can see it when I’m looking at it through a the loupe. Honestly even though I can’t get a perfect picture you can definitely see enough in my pics to be able to tell... I don’t know how any of y’all are even contesting me lol
MCPark The doubling doesn't match what is on Variety Vista nor Wexler. Just because the IGWT is close I can see how you think it is. The Date nor Liberty matches. And being that the doubling is remote to one area that confirms MD. Md can happen anywhere on the coin. Good eye for picking up the doubling but it is worthless doubling. Hey, we all have to start somewhere.
We are contesting you because your coin doesn't match. You have a coin that shows classic examples of machine doubling. Not the doubled die that you think it is. Put it aside as an example of MD and move on.
OP . Here's one just like your on Ebay . It's called MD doubling . https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-WASHI...156149?hash=item4432dd8bb5:g:QmQAAOSweoBbIP0b
