My aunt just asked me if I could look at some of the coins her grandmother gave her to tell if any of them are valuable, but unfortunately I'm don't know a whole lot about these foreign coins. I do know that the five coins in the upper left have silver contents of 50-90%, but I don't know if any of the other coins have any numismatic value. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)!

The German 5 mark coin is nice and worth more than the silver content. The Canadian Edward 25 cent piece is worth a great deal more than scrap if you can read a date on it .. some are pretty scarce. The other 3 silver coins are scrap only. The remainder of the coins are pretty common and you should keep them for your grandkids. BTW, your aunt's grandmather must not be very old.... some of the coins are only 50 years old or so.

That's actually a George V. If it's from 1912 to 1919 then it's sterling, which is 92.5% silver. If it's from 1920 to 1936 then it's 80%. Can't help with numismatic value, sorry. The 1936 5 marks is selling on eBay over bullion value, but it depends on condition.

Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately the George quarter's date has worn off, and I can't be totally sure if it's 80% or 92.5%. Although it does sound the same as one of my other george 5 80%s, so that's what I'm assuming it is. I'm also starting to fall in love with the 5 mark silver coin. I just love the design and the thickness of the coin, I might have to go buy a few now...

All five coins in the corner are silver.

The 1955-D German 1M lists at $125 but it's a tough sell at that price.

The Monaco coin is unusual but no real value. The 1964 Turkish 1L is just a shade under a very high price. It would have to be solid Unc and this one looks nice AU. I'd hang onto the Indian 25p as well. The other coins aren't worth messing with.

If you could sell retail it's a $150 bunch which is lots better news than I usually get to give. Don't get your hopes up a whole lot though. A lot hinges oin the 1M being solid XF and in being able to sell it.
