Haven't found any coinage in the wild (US or other) in quite some time. Tuesday I took the wife for some Lab work. Noticed some coins stacked neatly on top of a snack vending machine and pocketed them. Nothing earth shattering, but felt good to get some freebies. Canada 2001 KM #184 (third portrait of Elizabeth 2, last year minted for circulation in 99.9 % nickel) UK 2001 KM #988 (forth portrait of Elizabeth 2, Cupro-nickel. Same weight, Nickel-plated steel versions were introduced in 2011) 1982 Panama 1/4 Balboa KM #11.2a Minted in Philadelphia. Weight should be 5.67 g, a bit underweight at 5.57 g. Spain 1945 5 Centimos KM # 765 (Aluminum, circulated 1940-1953). After WW2 Eisenhower provided economic aid to Franco’s regime and US military bases were established in Spain. Coins minted during the war years of Franco’s open support of the Axis Powers were then demonetized.
