I've 2 words for you - "white balance". Find the white balance setting in your menu and set it to fluorescent or better yet, buy a $5 graycard (18%) at any camera store or on line and use the "pre-set white balance" option. And then be sure to reset your white balance whenever you change lights. You'll remove that sepia toning from your photos and they'll look much more natural. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions

ALso if you use photoscape you can edit out and just post the coin. You can also do a little collage like this and see them next to each other. Posting only a thumbnail since I do not want to detract from your post. Nice looking batch of dimes.

And if you can't score a copy of photoshop you can download the free program GIMP and make photos like this -

And it's a lot easier than it looks.

The program Mark_H mentioned (photoSCAPE) is also free, but I have to agree with DW that GIMP is the best freeware available. PhotoSHOP on the other hand is NOT free but quite expensive. I have use all three programs. GIMP is much more similar to PhotoSHOP and allows more functionality and is more intuitive than PhotoSCAPE. I give GIMP the highest marks for a freeware program!:thumb:
