Just spotted this, ending around 1AM EDT tonight: Collection 27 -1903 1904 1905 plus 1910 1911 1912 plus Looks like a BIG HONKING PILE of US Philippines coins, with a couple of Spanish Philippines thrown in as well. I fiddled with it for a while and, based on silver value plus a small collectibility premium, it looked like it was worth at least $1700 minimum; I don't know Philippine coinage very well, so that estimate could be quite conservative. Buy It Now price is $1800. I was tempted, but that's an awfully big chunk to take on speculation, especially since, as I said, I don't know what I'm doing. But I figured if I pointed to it here, someone who does know might find a good opportunity...
No Philippines fans tonight? Oh, well... the guy's turned down 3 offers so far, apparently; perhaps if the auction ends with no takers, he'll be more amenable to lower offers.
I love Flip/US coins. He has nice stuff the 2 1904 Peso's look uncirculated. $1,800 to high. Perhaps $700 for the lot. IMO
Really? He starts the lot off with 27 pre-1906 pesos -- at 27g of 90% silver each, that's over $800 right there. Then there are 28 1908-1910 pesos, at 0.5144 troy oz each, that's over $550. If you were offering this lot at $700, I'd definitely be jumping on it.
Yep, but thed 07-10 Peso's are common, the most abundant years ever. Now those 03-06 he has make the lot. But I think my price would be fair.
