    Wait, where did you learn that the pileus on that coin is supposed to be "in the sky." It's news to me!

    It just so happens that my latest purchase is a Nero provincial!

    Roman Republic, As Grave (heavy bronze) Quadrans, cast 289 - 265 BC.
    Obverse with open right hand held flat, three pellets beside.
    Reverse with two plump barley grains, pellets between.

    This sestertius of Nero has Annona who is a representation of the Grain supply to Rome , and Ceres, the goddess of agriculture. Also, there is the prow of a ship used in the grain transport.
