I went to Lowe's on my lunch break today and noticed a nickel on the ground as I crossed the parking lot. Of course I picked it up, that's what we do Looked closer back at the office and it's a '58, my birth year. Imagine, two good looking 64-year-olds hooking up on a Monday afternoon. (You weren't expecting some rare, interesting nickel, were you?)
It never fails to amaze me that the younger generation drops change and never bother to bend over and pick it up, but us old timers with bad backs, will. LOL
I picked up a nice 38 Philly nickel on the floor of the grocery. Good condition. Taking a walk and found a scratched up Mercury dime. I saw it in the crack, the color was blended in, and it looked like one of those needle threaders. But when I picked it up I couldn't believe it. Way back in the day found a 52-D quarter on the floor of a pool room. Not including cash those are the best found on ground coins I can recall. I always pick stuff up. I am walking into the gym one time and I see a nickel on the ground near the front desk. I am about to pick it up, when some 80 year old guy leaving the gyms dives on it and picks it up. "Look a nickel!" Yes I know. I'm not even faster than an 80 year old man.
