Two different coins? Your first photo shows a roof support on the right, the others do not. The first photo shows the initials but the others do not.
same coin. Pictures taken right from Iphone and others off the screen from a scope. A true "floating" roof will show zero signs of the side of the roof and no signs of initials correct? Those parts were completely gone on the die or grease filled???
Im thinking now this isnt one. Im searching through 1969 and Im finding a bunch of S that dont have the roof side either and from what I read, its only D. Must be common. I just never knew such a variety existed and never paid attention to it. I cant see it with my eyes and I think the pictures are only making it more challenging.
The floating roof and missing initials are the result of an over polished die actually, but yes, both supports need to be missing and not always the initials. It is mostly the 69D that has this but 1980 D also had the missing initials and likely there are other dates with the same issue.
As stated, that would be your semi floating roof. Unfortunately, they're not worth nothing. Then you've got the big one, your full floating roof. Now that I think of it, they're not worth nothing neither.
