This weekend I took a trip to the racetrack in WV and stopped at an outdoor flea market. One of the vendors had a mix of items. Among them were 5 1968 Kennedy halves which I bought for double face value($1 each!). Also, this vendor had an ID braclet that I purchased for $1. The ID braclet is clearly marked Sterling on the clasp and wrist panel. When I got home on Sunday I weighed the ID braclet and it came in at 44 grams. Ended up being some good finds for a total of $6, eventhough it won't cover my racing losses. Anyone else have a good find story?
What no Trade Dollars or 1887-CC Morgans? Sorry gave up on the Flea markets when I quit hunting used to find some nice gear there.
got a barber half about 2 years ago it was a 1900 in g-4 for 10.00 (at the time melt was like 11.00 for it)
Definately have to be careful when buying at a flea market but the kennedy's have already been sold to the local coin shop, i don't really care for them.
The best flea market find was a 1794 Franklin Press Token. I routinely look up old and interesting coins at flea markets. The price? Eight dollars. I put it on eBay and got around $120 for it. The 2nd best find was a large sterling spoon for $1 in a huge box of what the guy thought was all plated flatware. I got $40 out of it. I also found a bunch of nice Indian Head Cents for 50c each.
