Flawed planchette Lincoln cent

    Hi all, got this one this summer from a friend. Been looking through this group of errors i received. Just curious if this is a flawed planchette error? Can't imagine how this could happen, but it looks legit to me. You can see part of the lettering in the crater on the obverse. Doesn't look like pmd to me. What you think?     yes. It happens when an impurity get in the planchet. It is called a lamination. Here is another example (with the metal separated, but still retained);

    That cent is so cool... Every time I see it, I want to see a key sticking out the end of the rolled up copper like it's an old can of sardines. :)
