Hello Friends- what say you to these Liberty Walkers? Five Minty Walkers 40S; 42P; 43P; 44P; 45P; 45D 1940 S Walker 1940 S Walker 1942 P Walker 1942 P Walker 1943 P Walker 1943 P Walker 1944 P Walker 1944 P 1945 Walker 1945 Walker 1945 D Walker 1945 D Walker
Dipped, dipped, dipped, dipped, dipped. What appears to be wear on the breast feathers of 3, and the left hand/thigh of the other 2. All in all...5 coins made to look better than they are, imo.
I don't agree that they were dipped. Looks like you used a scanner for the images, and that really doesn't give a good representation of the luster. I would like to see camera photos of them in order to see if they look cleaned. They certainly are in nice condition.
Good point...didn't have that thought. They may well present differently when photographed as opposed to scanned. I stand by my assessment of light wear however.
Hi- those coins have never been dipped. They are raw. They are from a series of collector or dealer assembled 1940's "mint sets" that have been in a vault and storage for 35 or 40 years maybe longer. These are scans through flips and not photos- I wish I could get better with my photos but it takes me too long to get good ones. They look pretty good to me but I'm baised and the closet thing to a novice on the block. So will see what grades we get. I wish I could get some good pics because a couple of them have some greating light rainbows that don't show in the scans. Thanks for the comments- I learn from all of them. Best JS
I think that the look of wear is somewhat a product of the scan however there are some weaker strikes.
Certainly. They are very nice. Walking Liberty is a beautiful design and they look especially nice when high luster is present. Which i have a feeling yours have.
