I'm doing a program at the next coin club meeting detailing my first year in the club. I collected on a small scale in the late 70's and early 80's; then came a driver's license, girls, flyrods, shotguns, etc. A couple years ago I turned forty, picked up the coins, and something clicked. I have the same passion for numismatics I once had for piscatorial pursuit. My buddy and I used to drive straight thru 19 hours to Yellowstone, fish for two days, drive all night back and go to work that AM.....frequently. I'm wondering if anyone else may want to share one of their earliest mistakes/nice finds/cherry picks.......One of the eye-opening, "Hey, now I might have it" moments that happened to them early on in their collecting. If used, I will ABSOLUTELY attribute it to the contributor and relate any discussion here in coin talk. I'm not really looking for material, I have plenty of mistakes of my own to discuss..... I thought some may find it fun to contribute...maybe not....new in here and still learning how all this works........
