Since coin variety attribution has seemed to grab more than casual interest by me, I thought I might try to make it easier for others too.
Right now it's mostly half cents and large cents.
But for an easier first try I am working with a Shield Nickel.
Fewer varieties and less expensive coins.

EFFORT #1 - 1867 No Rays Business Strike Shield Nickel.

And as an aside, as I was doing this I noticed one feature of Shield Nickels that they are known for -- die cracks.
There's a die crack through the arrowhead.
And another from about k8 to k1 on the reverse.

Also everything was done with Photoshop Elements.
I think PowerPoint will work better for putting things together.
