Picking up my first box of halves today from Chase bank. Naturally anything 64 and earlier is 90% and 65-70 is 40%, however, are there any other dates worth hanging on to after 1970?

Yeah, any proofs and of course if you find proofs there are the silver ones that very occasionally turn up in roll searches. Anything after 2001 was not released into general circulation - and I have found up to 2011 so far. Those were released into mint bags that the mint sold, but were not released to banks etc.

Whole box was full of 71's, 74's 76's and 96's. Managed to pull a '64 though! Thanks for your help

If I found one '64 in a box I would be vedy happy all the while. I went through $500 in 10c coins yesterday and found only a 1945 GVI, but still happy to have at least a bit of silver. Curiously it was in a BWR roll, and not the customer rolls I thought were better for finding that stuff. The only other find was a 5p from Britain.

I've had better luck with CWR. Found a 64 and a 50s dime and two war dimes this last week. The 64 was from bank roll and the others where from bank wrapped.

Wow you need to switch banks Mikey. I got those two in 100 bucks worth of dimes. Also if you just walk into any bank with cash they should sell you what ever rolls you need.

I am overseas, there is only two bank branches that deal in US currency. One buys money from the other. So one is my pickup and one is my dump bank. Which essentially goes back to the initial bank just not the branch i deal with. So I am limited on what I can do since they have to fly everything in and that costs $$$ (a fact they have reminded me of multiple times). I love searching though, its the cheapest hobby I have ever had. I have even thought about having boxes sent to me etc. but it wouldn't cover the cost =(
