I been lurking in the forum for a few days, and I been reading about coin roll searching. I just started collecting coins but I bought some coin slot pages (for a binder) so yea I am a complete beginner.

So today I went to tdbank in a very populated city mind you. I ask the teller if she has any half dollars, she did not ask for my id or even asked if I have an account there which I found strange but she seemed happy I mentioned half dollars. She told me she has $10 not even rolled up and I was like ok great, then said "oh I have $90 rolled also" so she then asked how much I want to buy. I said I will take it all, and she sounded so happy and I thought they were most likely searched already and won't find nothing.

Well when I went home and started searching I found 2 1964 half dollars and 42 (1965-1969) quarters. Now I am scared as hell to just exchange the remaining coins since they could have value in them (maybe silver or proofs) but I have no clue what to look for exactly, I have so many 1776 - 1996 coins and 1974 coins along with many other dates. I am guessing this was a family member of a collector who mistakenly exchange these half dollars which is why I would like to know what to look for.

Also my camera sucks but here is pic's:

If anyone can let me know what to look for I would be most thankful. as I said these coins look to be from a collector so there could be errors or proof or even silver (besides the 1964 and 1965-1970 I know about those dates)

I'd take some time and look here. http://varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/index.htm
Congratulations on your find by the way. I have rarely ever had a teller ask for ID or if I had an account when I tell them I want to take coins they don't regularly use from their storage and replace it with cash. Good call on taking everything. I often ask them to see if any other tellers have half dollars too. Most of the time they walk around happily and ask.

Congratulations on your score! It's been quite a while since I've found any circulating silver, so definitely envious (in a healthy way.)

Let's see...off the top of my head, here are some things to look for in your clad halves:

Anything high grade (yes, you can find plenty of lovely mint state halves in rolls)
1971 D DDO (doubling on IGWT)
1972 D "No FG" (missing designer's initials on reverse)
1973 D DDO (doubling on IGWT)
1974 D DDO (strong doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST)
1977 D DDO (strong doubling on IGWT)
1980's "No FG" - various dates
NIFC (not intended for circulation) from 2002-present, although they aren't worth much of a premium really, still have lower mintages.)

Thanks so much for the post! and the congrats!

ok I will take a look at that site and and look for the marks that
    Seattlite86 posted.

If I find anything, I will place the coins in my scanner (its pretty decent) and hopefully I will get something nice.

TBH I gotta thank the cointalk community, thanks so much everyone! Also I bought some INB basement slabber "company" but only wasted like $20, but then I searched and found many threads on here how they are basically a POS so thank you guys for that too!

Also whats does "No FG" mean and 1971 D (the D means Denver Mint correct?)

FG is the initials from the designer. On the reverse, by the Eagle's tail feathers. Some dies were polished so heavily that the FG was polished out. That's a "No FG". And yes, D is for the Denver Mint.

I got quite a few where the fg is barley visible (but if you look hard enough you will notice it) that does not count right?

Welcome to CT, StevieB! Good luck with your search.
Post pictures of your finds. We love pictures!
Always dump at a different bank that where you got your rolls.
That teller was happy that she could get rid of those half dollars and is hoping to not get them back.
Sometimes a little gift to the tellers helps, too. Maybe some cookies for their coffee breaks.

Likely not. But there should be photos to guide you.

This is great advice. I'll add one more piece: Coinstar gives 100% of your coins to you if you turn it into a gift card like Amazon, Applebees, Southwest, and a few other places. I highly recommend using that if you're going to spend the money anyway. Then you don't have to dump at any bank :)

I got alot more to search but these are some I felt off then other coins, the 1990's ones seem very light (like it was not minted right) not sure if normal.

Also about my comment about not asking for id or if I am a customer. That same td bank denied me 2 rolls of quarters since I was not a member.(this was a few months ago, needed quarters to wash laundry at the time lol) So that is why I thought it was strange, there are a few bank by me so I might do some more.
