Assuming that you own the item, slabbing it would be a horrible idea, even if you could get a first strike designation. It is worth much more in its current state to collectors than a plastic slab would be. The coin alone has recently went for $25,300 in auction so I could imagine that this one would be quite valuable and be at least in the 6 figure range.
