So, I'm definitely not in the habit of looking at my paper money, checking serial numbers, or even simply looking for stars. Today, though, I made a nice sale, and received $6K in cash. Mostly $100s. On a whim, I started checking the serial numbers. I found one star $100, and in my wallet I found a star $20. I sat them aside for now, gonna do some research. Question is, do all star notes hold *some* premium, are worth doing more than just spending? Or are most just a novelty, and *some* are worth an extra little bit? I know what price guides say, but reality does not always coincide with price guides lol. As with anything, obviously it is up to the collectors what is "worth" something. Anyways, here is a picture, just to share my finds. I do like them, just because they are my first ones, and I'll hang on to them for a while, until I spend the rest of my cash at least lol.
I always found that finding a new 100 dollar star was bittersweet. One hand it's a star but on the other hand it's 100 bucks out of my pocket lol
I looked for ages. I dont handle loads of cash & most everything by the good ole plastic. But just in the past couple of months I've gotten 2. Both 2006 $1 one is lightly circulated the other uncirculated
Chances are slim they will bring any premium in anything other than superb state unless it is a very low run number or what they call fancy numbers.
