Does anyone know the actual size of one of the first spouse bronze medals? The mint says that it is 1 5/16 which I think works out to about 33+ mm. Would this fit in a 33mm Air-tite or Kointain? Thanks for the help! David
plastic holder i will use 40 mm am eagle capsule or holder. after all it is only a medal. note: well, i found a problem. the medal is very thick . it will not fit. sorry.
I can squeeze them in 30mm airtites. You just need to apply even pressure on all around the edge of the coin and it should compress just enough to squeeze in the 30mm size airtite. Kind like squeezing a roll of Charmin.
33mm seemed to work really well (no squeezing needed the trick is finding a local dealer that carries 33mm. My local dealer ordered some because of the bronze spouse coin. She said there are very few coins that size.
no need to change the original mylar covering the medal is already good for many years. just check the mint unc set before.
Is the first spouse medal about the same size as the actual gold coin, or is it smaller? Thanks,\ David
activating an old thread Some questions about the First Spouse bronze medals: 1. Does anyone know whether anyone is planning an album to hold them? 2. Does anyone know the outside diameter of a 33mm Airtite? (that seems to be the consensus about the size of the capsule required).
