Excellent start to the year with such a beautiful coin Svarog, It amazes me how the Syrians seem to do a better job of emperor portraiture than the Alexandrians Tets that seem to over exaggerate facial features as with mine. Nero and Tiberius struck AD 66/67 Emmett 134. 23.7mm, 12.58gm.
Agreed Aussie, next on the list for me is Antioch Nero Tet, if I can get it in a quality I want. I like these tetradrachms due to the size and portrait styles
Nero Tets are very common and can be found at decent prices. But looks like you are gonna be going with the Slabbed route, so expect to pay silly prices cause it's in plastic. 90% of us here hate tombed ancients and the prices dealers charge for them.
Hi Mat, Its less about slabs or silly prices for me, but more about high quality, sharp details and eye appeal . here is a type of Nero I am hunting for:
That is nice. For coins like that, CNG is pretty much the best. I'm a budget collector, so it's whatever fits my price range. Both my Tiberius coins were big steals.
