Aloha everyone. I know it's been a while since I last posted, been pretty busy with school and other things. I recently went to one of my long-time coin dealers and scored this real nice PCGS-graded Buff. It's a 1938-D. Try and guess the grade! I'll post the label in a couple days. Enjoy!
I thought this coin was under graded....I think it is now that I see what your feedback is. Looks pretty solid and sharp on-hand, luster is cart wheel. No idea why this was held back, I don't notice any bad imperfections that'll hold it from getting Gem.
It's a very nice coin! There are a couple of contact marks on the Buffalo (main focal area) and the Obverse rim looks a little rough. Personnally, I would think it should be MS65. I'm just trying to guess at what they have to been looking at when assigning MS64.
The grade is reflective of a few contact marks and overall luster. The really high grade examples are really glowing. I agree with the grade, but if you would have told me that it was a MS-65 FH I would not have questioned it. You got a very high end of the grade point.
