Got my first MPC the other day for four bucks. Love the submarine on the front. Its been worn but it doesn't bother me any. Then got this notgeld for 25 cents.
And now the question. I got this one for 25 cents also and it is by far the coolest foreign note I have ever seen. However, the only pictures I have found online have a building to the left of the center. Has this one been altered or is this just a different variety? Thanks!
There are two different series of Japanese notes for the Philippines. One with the banyan tree (like the one you listed) and one with the Rizal monument (the other one you mentioned).
I'm quite thrilled with finding someone local who deals in war-time paper money. I've always loved war-time coins from all over but haven't had the ability to get into paper money. Definately will be going back to that store because he had a bunch more.
