    Hi, Newbie on here ....\

I have a package of 5 proof sets still sealed from the mint and postmarked 8-19-75. I was wondering if anyone knows when the 1975 proof sets were released to the public. If the sets were minted in the first month they could qualify as first strike with PCGS. Also does anyone know how many proof 1975-S no S dimes there are? On the one hand my curiosity is killing me to open the sets and see if they contain the no-S dime while on the other hand I don't want to break the seal that pcgs requires to prove first strike authentication.

I really don't understand the constant asking of what to do about unopened items like that. If you are going to sell them, fine. But if you are a coin collector and are going to keep them anyway, open the things up. They are yours. What do you care what PCGS or anyone else wants unless your goal is to sell. If you are going keep them, open them up and let us know what you find. For all you know those packages are full of blank sheets of paper. OPEN THEM.

Hey Greg... That was my nice way saying what just karl said..Open the dam package..it's not worth a fortune! PCGS puts all coins out on a metal tray (so I was told) they would rip open the box and chuck it anyway...Chill out about it..Open it up and check it out! So when you post something like that expect that sort of reply!! Well at least for those of us who have some sanity remaining. LOL
