Hey guys, first post here. Well I finally picked up my first box of half dollars from my bank to search through. $500 in halfs yielded no silver. Did get one proof bicentennial though and a few nifc. I came across a lot of marked coins with peoples initials, lines, circles. Guess I got someone elses dump lol. Also stopped by my lcs to pick up some more ase's for my collection, so I got something at least.

FYI - As you continue to search boxes of half dollars, one thing you will probably notice is that the placement of the mintmark on 70's & 80's coins can be all over the place because they were punched into the dies by hand. I just thought I'd mention this because it is one of the most common questions we get. I'm posting this 2001-D Kennedy in your honor. It came from a $100 Mixed P&D Mint bag. Chris
Let us know of your luck with the dimes. I just started going through boxes of them that last month and a half. My first box I pulled 5 silvers. After that it's been about 1 per box.
5 ? wow great score. I might get 1-2. last time a while ago I got my first mercy dime. that made my day.
In my area I do much better with CWR dimes and halves than BWR. I have even come across solid 90% rolls of dimes.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!! I'll try different boxes of coins eventually, need to open an account with another bank that has a coin machine to get this process going. I'll look into cwr too.
