Typo 1868 nice indian head token

 

Found it around 1968!

 

It's pretty beat up, but definitely one of the finds that got me into numismatics!

I think it's 1865?

 

Does it scare anyone else how quickly this was found?

 

It wouldn't be since Congress outlawed private coinage in 1864.

I only applied the visible lettering into the Numista search parameters. For example, if you type in "one country," your search will populate 18 results, and only 2 of those are Civil War tokens.

 

Looks like 1865 ( Civil War Token) .

Cool, it's def. 1863 . Found some on Ebay . Where else .

 

A couple others found, way back then I thought the 2 cent piece was foreign and placed it in a mason jar of foreign coins!
