Couldn't find one within my budget on the bay.Saw a few within my range but sold and didn't have the money at the time.Luckily went to my LCS today and he got a couple yesterday. This one was $200 and the other was $600,way above my budget and will probably be gone within a day also.
It was a 4 reale had some meat left. Usually the smaller the coin the less details since they were literally tumbling around under the waves. While the 8 reales for example sunk and dug into the sand which preserved them much more.

@potty dollar 1878. Found an interesting website for you. Check it out, okay? >>>>Spanish Colonial Cobs: Introduction (nd.edu)
But the Atocha wasn't part of the 1715 plate fleet. If you loke cobs and shipwreck coins you probably should watch Daniel Frank Sedwick's website and auctions. He specializes in that material. He authored "The Practial Book of Cobs".
Great little book even if you're not into Spanish Colonial coinage. Lots of stuff on shipwrecks because that's where a lot, if not most, of our cob coinage derives from. It's only $20. Frank was selling them at Summer FUN and you can also order from him at his website.
