I'm enjoying these threads! I figured it would be fun to see how my favorite Roman portraits stack up against each other! It was tough picking just 10, but these are the ten that I probably come back to the most often!

What draws me to Roman coins the most is their portraiture, and so that is the metric by which I have chosen my top 10. You can choose to vote by portrait only, or overall - it's up to you!

    4. Antoninus Pius as Caesar AR Denarius

    Great line up Finn....
I went for the Trajan with that wonderful 'I know what I'm doing' expression!

Great selection of portraits, and reverses are just as nice, for me I love your Marcius Philippus. His facial expression is priceless.

The Trajan is an interesting type and the portrait is simply outstanding. I voted for it despite the fact that I love the Pupienus and was an early bidder on it in the CNG auction (earlier this year?). The Quintillus has an exceptional portrait as well.

Great idea! (Maybe I will copy you at some point, I'm a portrait guy at heart.) I voted based on portrait... for the T-bone! :D Partly because I thought he'd get neglected, but also because it's remarkably hard to get a nice portrait of him – I know, I've been trying – and that one is truly exceptional. (Fantastic strike on the reverse too, overall a great coin.) I also really really like the Marcius Philippus, the Pupienus, and the Quintillus.

Great coins! my favorite is the Marcius Philippus. Both sides are of high quality. I like the detail on the reverse.
