I just went looking through some of my coin books and have found a green tint on about a dozen coins. I know I would not seal them in cardboard if they looked like
they do now....So I am wondering what caused this? Maybe I did not seal them in
their cardboard good enough? Could it be the tape itself doing this? What do you
    guys think and also how can I get the green "stain" off of these coins? SingleShot0003.jpg SingleShot0002.jpg SingleShot0004.jpg SingleShot0005.jpg SingleShot0008.jpg SingleShot0009.jpg SingleShot0012.jpg SingleShot0013.jpg SingleShot0018.jpg SingleShot0019.jpg

Could be PVC from the 2X2's.... Wait for other opinions...

Did you say that you are using tape to close the 2x2's? Stop using tape!

The plastic window on 2x2s are Mylar and won't react with your coinS. It might be the tape or the coins could have been stored in PVC flips before you got them. A short acetone soak will get rid of any PVC plasticizer residue (don't use nail polish remover). There are lots of threads in the archives explaining the safety precautions when using acetone. Read them if you aren't used to working with chemicals as its very flammable, and can ruin some types of countertops and plastic pipes.

I did stop using tape cpm9ball....Only use staples now....These coins came out of a old book(s)... Gonna have to start replacing the taped 2x2's with new ones and seal them with staples....Anyone have stock in staple companies? If not I suggest you buy some...
