It is getting harder to get rolls from the Banks in my area. None of the branches have dollar or 1/2 dollar rolls. I can get quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies but I have to come in on Monday mornings, only to place a order for larger order for those and if I want dollars and 1/2 dollars. Anyone else find this an issue? Tim
Several of my local branches have stopped ordering coin for me. It used to be no problem to get $6k in halves and $200 in cents a week. I don't have as much time to search any more so it's not a huge deal.
If I'm patient my bank will get it for me if they don't have it. What I can't get is rolls or boxes of new coins. All the coin is recycled.
This problem has been building for years, and it is inevitable that it will eventually end up that no one except commercial business accounts will be allowed to order boxes of rolls of any kind. That is the price that you will pay after all of the unwanted coins are continually dumped back into the system when there is no actual need for them except to satisfy the needs of collectors. Chris
