Finally found a 1964 half! Just got back from the bank 10 minutes ago. I had brought $55 worth of cents and halves to be counted and traded for more...when the cashier showed me a 1964 she had found in her drawer. Right place, right time. Just wanted to share!
BTW just wanted to add that in every $50 worth of halves that I search, at least 15% of them are bicentennials. Sure are a lot of them out there.
:thumb: It's nice when you find something in circulation. I was happy today when I traded a Adam Dollar for a 1964D Quarter that had just popped out of a soda machine in change. That single quarter was much more exciting than the two rolls of Adam's I picked up. LOL - The guy I traded with was so surprised by my excitement he went straight off to figure out how much he lost in the trade of a quarter for a dollar. What a funny world we live in...
Awesome DJ! I haven't found one yet, but soon. Check to see if it is an accented hair variety, might not be, but never hurts to look. Awesome find! :thumb: Phoenix
DJ: Congrats and good luck on future searches. I check all the time, and they are getting scarcer each time.
Thanks for wishing me luck! I just found some more silver! 1967, 1968-D, and a 1969-D! All 3 in one trip to the bank! (I get 5 rolls per trip). All are in very nice AU condition.
Wow, awesome! I'll need to get my bank to get in some halves, lol. See how I do. Probably all be 71s with the way my luck is going. Very nice! Phoenix
Funny thing to say. A 1964 half dollar is not like another 1964? The point is he found a 90% silver coin. Congratulations. I find less and less silver every trip. Two banks finally told me their own employees cherry pick the customer returns for silver.
The only silver half that i have ever found was a 1967, i'll have to go back sometime over the summer. Good luck all!
Never found a 64 untill about two weeks ago, scored 53 circulated one's in a very lucky visit to the bank
Yeah...the silver ones seem to come in groups. If you hit the cache you'll usually find more than one!
