i've wanted a CRVX type aethelred ii penny for quite some time now, and my cousin found out, then found one that i was looking at (i think my fiancée told him), and purchased it for me for my birthday!!! here it is... aethelred ii, the unready (978-1016) penny, 1.54 g, CRVX type (c.991-c.997) london-godric. obv: bare-headed bust facing left with sceptre, +ÆĐELRED REX ANGLORX rev: short voided cross with CRVX in angles, +GODRIC M-O LVND yes, it has peck marks (part of the appeal to me) and a small crack at 12 o'clock, but i don't mind. i can finally take this one off my list!!!
