Well last night was the night. Went to a local coin auction. Picked up a 1913 ten dollar Indian. Always wanted one. Darn it I am addicted to gold. Picked up a 1908 20 Franc Rooster and a 1899 ten dollar Liberty head Eagle too. Figured I'd get the big Indian first. Now I am not satisfied till I get the $5 and $2.5 Indians.
Raw. The 2X2 holder says AU on it. By my crude standards I would say AU-53 maybe less. Funny thing, the 1899 $10 had BU written on the holder. I can't see how that coin is unc. Maybe I am too strict. The Rooster is UNC. But probably a restrike. Now I have to stop buying!

Victor,that is a very nice $10 eagle.Which mintmark(s) is on the 1913 & the 1899 $10 eagle? The only gold coins I collect is from British Commonwealth countries.I did have an 1851 U.S. gold $1 with 2 mount marks on the obverse & a ring mount on the edge.I've got it at work ready to put up on eBay.
