    I look at so many lincolns, I can tell this coin from the 80s
    ( 81-85 ).

    If you read his later post, I can only assume you realize what he's looking at was the rather obvious strike doubling. Now, is a genuine albeit very minor variety out of the question? No, of course not, but the odds are no greater than with any other coin of the same date/mint one pulls from their pocket.
